Strategic Rail Planning Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Rail Planning Lead to join our team in Brisbane, Queensland. As a key member of our rail planning team, you will be responsible for leading strategic rail planning projects, developing business cases, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team delivering strategic rail planning projects, focusing on the Queensland market.
- Develop and implement business cases for rail projects, including rail operations, engineering advisory, and transport demand modeling.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and develop action plans to win work.
- Lead bids for public and private clients, primarily in Queensland.
- Guide the performance of the team to meet client outcomes, deliver tangible benefits, and maintain profitability.
- Interface with our Queensland advisory, planning, and mobility teams to identify collaboration opportunities.
- Support and mentor staff to develop their skills and realize their potential.
- Contribute to the achievement of WSP's national Strategic Rail Planning Strategy from a Queensland perspective.
- Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent.
- Masters' Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant post-graduate experience.
- Broad experience in leading rail planning projects, especially at the strategic level.
- Deep knowledge and experience in business case development in Australia, particularly in Queensland.
- Well-connected to rail professionals in Queensland, especially with decision-makers from governmental organizations.
- Ability and willingness to bring new businesses to the company by maintaining and developing a professional network in Queensland.
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people from diverse disciplines in a dynamic environment.
