About the Opportunity

We are currently hiring for an experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Director - Project & Program Management (P&PM) based in Brisbane. This is a key role which will lead the overall project management for rail projects, ensuring the QLD team work in a coordinated way to achieve successful project outcomes and high level of customers satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinates the QLD project team and works to provide strategic leadership and guidance as part of the QLD leadership team.
  • Lead the project management for the overarching P&PM function and ensures this is consistent with the requirements of the different projects.
  • Works with the Project Director to deliver timely and accurate reporting of project health to the customer.
  • Works with Project Director to ensure updates to the Project Management and Quality Plan are completed in line with the current program strategy.
  • Ensures strategic decisions from the customer are translated into the relevant project delivery strategy.
  • Ensure our approach to project management is always 'best for customer'.
Requirements

Essential:

  • Significant project management experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering small to medium sized rail projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing risks across projects and programs including knowledge of risk management concepts and tools.
  • Sound understanding of major rail infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of the project lifecycle and project management concepts.
  • Understanding of the program principles and objectives.
  • Proficient in building positive relationships with senior stakeholders and technical subject matter experts.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in the delivery of change and compliance projects
  • Proficiency in a project schedule management tool – such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (in a relevant field)
