Business Development Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Business Development Specialist to join our dynamic team. The purpose of this role is to provide expert support to clients in new business acquisition and driving growth.

  • Establish strong client relationships by contributing to the acquisition of new business opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive new business submissions and quotes that meet client needs.
  • Maintain a relevant network of business contacts, including insurers.
  • Contribute to the development of client revenue forecasts and monitor performance against targets.
  • Ensure accurate management of databases, information systems and company records.
  • Gather client information to support new business documentation.
  • Proactively manage and resolve client issues, responding promptly to enquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Stay informed of industry trends through internal or external meetings and events.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements.
  • Make informed decisions on how to escalate problems or grievances, and create cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Diploma in Financial Services or other relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous.
  • Essential Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualifications.
  • Previous experience working within Insurance or Financial Services advantageous.
