About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Infrastructure Maintenance department as a Maintenance Team Member. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining our reactive and routine road and associated infrastructure assets.

  • Ongoing Full Time position
  • Base salary $65,499 + maintenance allowance + 11.5% superannuation
  • Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm with fortnightly RDO

As a Maintenance Team Member, you will be responsible for loading and unloading machinery, plant, and equipment, ensuring work complies with Council's Road Management Plan and other infrastructure maintenance service levels. You will also contribute to the prioritization of work with the Team Leader, assist members of the public with enquiries, and perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance of plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Loading and unloading of machinery, plant, and equipment
  • Ensuring work complies with Council's Road Management Plan and other infrastructure maintenance service levels
  • Contributing to the prioritization of work with the Team Leader
  • Assisting members of the public with enquiries
  • Performing pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Completing allocated work to an appropriate standard and procedure
  • Contributing to the Logistics & Procurement team by adopting safety procedures
  • Responding to after-hours maintenance response service
  • Resolving routine problems pertaining to the immediate job
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience hauling light and heavy earthmoving machinery and plant
  • Civil related plant and equipment qualification and/or competencies
  • Sound knowledge of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR) and Chain of Responsibility (COR) Regulations
  • Reliable, have a great attitude, and good attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and professional work ethic
  • Ability to work to KPI's and targets
  • Ability to work from both Foster and Leongatha depots
  • Physically capable to carry out manual laboring tasks
  • Ability to understand and follow OH&S policies and procedures
  • Ability to use mobile devices such as smart phones and laptops
  • Current Drivers Licence and Heavy Combination license (or willing to obtain)
