ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Full-Time, Ongoing Position
  • Competitive salary of $65,499 plus maintenance allowance and 11.5% superannuation
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off

As a vital member of the maintenance team, you will contribute to various maintenance operations, ensuring the upkeep of the Council's road and infrastructure assets.

This role is essential within the Operational Support unit, playing a key part in enhancing the daily functions of the Infrastructure Maintenance department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Loading and unloading machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Council's Road Management Plan and infrastructure maintenance standards.
  • Assisting the Team Leader in prioritizing tasks.
  • Addressing public inquiries related to maintenance services.
  • Conducting pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Completing assigned tasks to established standards and procedures.
  • Supporting the Logistics & Procurement team by adhering to safety protocols.
  • Responding to after-hours maintenance requests.
  • Troubleshooting routine issues related to the job.

ABOUT YOU

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Experience operating light and heavy earthmoving machinery.
  • Relevant qualifications or competencies in civil-related plant and equipment.
  • Knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR) and Chain of Responsibility (COR) Regulations.
  • Reliability, a positive attitude, and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional approach to customer service.
  • Ability to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets.
  • Flexibility to work from various depots.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor tasks.
  • Understanding of and adherence to OH&S policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices such as smartphones and laptops.
  • A valid Driver's License and Heavy Combination license (or willingness to obtain).
