ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Full-time ongoing position
  • Base salary of $65,499 plus maintenance allowance and 11.5% superannuation
  • Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with a fortnightly rostered day off

The role of a maintenance team member is crucial in supporting various maintenance activities, ensuring the upkeep of the Council's roadways and related infrastructure.

This position is vital within the Operational Support unit, playing a key role in enhancing the daily functions of the Infrastructure Maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Council's Road Management Plan and maintenance service standards.
  • Collaborating with the Team Leader to prioritize tasks.
  • Assisting the public with inquiries regarding maintenance services.
  • Conducting pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Completing assigned tasks to established standards and procedures.
  • Contributing to the Logistics & Procurement team by adhering to safety protocols.
  • Responding to after-hours maintenance requests.
  • Addressing routine issues related to the job.

ABOUT YOU

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Experience operating light and heavy earthmoving machinery.
  • Relevant civil plant and equipment qualifications or competencies.
  • Strong understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR) and Chain of Responsibility (COR) Regulations.
  • Reliability, a positive attitude, and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with a professional work ethic.
  • Ability to meet KPIs and performance targets.
  • Willingness to work from multiple depots.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor tasks.
  • Understanding of and adherence to OH&S policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices such as smartphones and laptops.
  • A valid Driver's License and Heavy Combination license (or willingness to obtain).
