Description

We are seeking a visionary and driven professional to join our team at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.

The successful candidate will play a central role in the development and growth of professional performing arts practice within the Bathurst region. Working as part of our team, they will be responsible for facilitating artistic development, fostering local talent, and building strategic partnerships that contribute to a vibrant and sustainable performing arts ecosystem.

This role is instrumental in supporting artists at various stages of their careers through commissioning new works, enabling professional development, and enhancing access to resources such as the Ngurang Arts Residency facility. The successful candidate will also contribute to the artistic programming, curation, and audience engagement strategies of the Centre, ensuring alignment with our vision and community needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement artistic programs and projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and national arts organizations
  • Commission and produce new works by local and national artists
  • Support the career development of emerging and established artists
  • Contribute to the development of the Centre's artistic vision and strategy

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Practical understanding of contemporary performing arts practice
  • Knowledge of local and national performing arts practice
  • Practical experience as a deviser, producer, animateur, dramaturg, production manager, director or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced skills of documentation, planning, programming, budgeting, grant applications and acquittals
  • Advanced competency with computers, including word, excel, email
  • Current C class driver's license
