Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our team. This is a full-time role working 38 hours per week, with a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of Indian food, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
  • Meet established recipes, standards, and quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate advanced culinary techniques and provide guidance on cooking procedures.
  • Manage kitchen staff, coordinating tasks for efficient operations.
  • Visualise situations and tasks, making independent decisions to handle them effectively.
  • Plan menus using seasonal ingredients, catering to diverse customer preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Monitor quality at every stage of food preparation and presentation.
  • Estimate costs and order supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.
  • Enforce Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a busy restaurant or similar hospitality industry role.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
