Embedded Firmware Engineer

The company is developing implantable medical devices that listen to the body and respond in real-time. This innovative technology has the potential to treat chronic pain with unprecedented precision.

To achieve this goal, we need an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer who can write firmware that works flawlessly inside the human body.

This role involves contributing to embedded design for Class III, safety-critical medical devices, navigating bare metal firmware and RTOS implementations, and helping drive our internal migration to ARM Cortex-based platforms.

You will shape the direction of the firmware stack on a product that is literally inside someone's body. You will define the future state of how we integrate cybersecurity, encryption, and over-the-air upgradability into systems that cannot fail.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Write embedded C for bare-metal systems or RTOS environments.
  • Understand the trade-offs in ultra-low-power, resource-constrained environments and take pride in optimizing every byte.
  • Able to work with I2C, SPI, UART, and other communication protocols.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
