Embedded Software Engineer

As a key contributor to our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing firmware for control, sensing, and actuation systems. You will work closely with our research scientists to develop new applications on our Xilinx Zynq + Embedded Linux platform.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a research environment, collaborating with established engineering teams and research scientists. Algorithm development experience for control systems and autonomous sensor operation is also essential.

The role requires proficiency with systems programming languages like C, C++, or Rust, as well as experience with hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL). Experience creating embedded linux distributions using tools like Buildroot, Yocto, or Petalinux is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, integrate, and support embedded systems employed in quantum sensing and navigation systems.
  • Design, implement, and test control, sensing, and actuation firmware needed to autonomously operate next-generation quantum sensors.
  • Work in cross-functional teams to solve novel issues in research & development and product-focused environments.
  • Contribute to the success of field trials with industry partners.
  • Create test and simulation setups, including hardware-in-the-loop test fixtures.
