Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional to join our team in Sydney. This pivotal role requires a harmony of deep theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with automation technologies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving successful customer engagements, working collaboratively with the sales team, and serving as the primary technical authority throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Sales & Discovery: Engage in sales calls and discovery sessions, articulating complex technical solutions that align directly with customer needs. Present and validate these solutions confidently in various settings.
- Solution Design & Analysis: Collaborate with customers to dissect manufacturing processes, investigate operational hurdles, and understand business objectives. Propose and validate comprehensive automation solutions, ensuring clear, measurable value.
- Technical Expertise & Configuration: Leverage theoretical and practical skills to configure, program, and integrate automation components, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
- Demonstration & Troubleshooting: Develop compelling proof-of-concept demonstrations. Lead hands-on technical showcases to build customer confidence in our solutions' capabilities. Address and resolve complex technical issues with clarity during the sales process by employing advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise.
- Content Development & Relationship Building: Create bespoke technical presentations, white papers, application notes, and competitive analyses to bolster sales initiatives and deepen customer understanding of our unique value proposition. Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor by building enduring relationships with customer engineering, operations, and IT teams, consistently delivering expert guidance and practical problem-solving.
- Continuous Improvement & Market Insight: Stay ahead of the curve by engaging with the latest advancements in industrial automation and digitalization trends such as Industry 4.0, IoT, and AI. Provide insightful market feedback to our product management and development teams, enhancing our offerings continuously.
- Strategic Alignment & Communication: Maintain proactive communication with sales teams to align on strategies, identify potential technical blockers, and collaboratively develop plans to advance opportunities. Ensure all customer interactions reflect our expertise and reliability.
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in an Automation Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, or pre-sales technical sales support role within industrial environments is essential.
Proficient understanding of industrial automation architectures, including PLC/DCS programming and HMI/SCADA design, along with industrial networking concepts such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and OPC UA, is mandatory. Strong capability in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, control narratives, and functional design specifications is fundamental.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are critical, as is the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. A collaborative, proactive mindset and a customer-centric approach are essential.
