Emergency Department Overview

The Emergency Department handles over 75,000 patient presentations annually, with an admission rate of approximately 40% and a significant number of high acuity cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing various aspects of ED presentations with minimal supervision, operating at a senior ED trainee level or above.
  • Provide clinical and disposition decisions while supervising junior ED medical staff.

Requirements:

  • Hold AHPRA Registration or be eligible for it.
  • ACEM Trainees/ED Senior Registrars or International Medical Graduates assessed by ACEM and deemed Partially Comparable are welcome to apply.
  • Emergency Medicine Doctors from NZ, UK, and Ireland who are eligible for provisional registration are also encouraged to apply.
