Senior Meat Department Manager

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Meat Department Manager to lead our Meat Department team at Costco Wholesale.
**About the Role:**
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Meat Department, including scheduling, training, coaching, and evaluating staff. They will also be responsible for implementing sales and merchandising plans, determining production requirements, and ensuring high-quality products are consistently delivered to our customers.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Develops and implements sales and merchandising plans to drive business growth and profitability
• Oversees department profit and loss statements to ensure financial targets are met
• Determines production requirements and participates in meat cutting to maintain product quality and consistency
• Trains and develops Meat Department staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional customer service
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and Costco's policies and procedures
• Collaborates with other departments to achieve business objectives and improve overall store performance
**Requirements:**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A Higher School Certificate or relevant Apprenticeship
• A Butcher Trade Certificate (preferable)
• Management or supervisory experience in a retail or food industry setting
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and basic math skills
• Experience with inventory management and ordering systems
**What We Offer:**
Costco Wholesale offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
