Our organisation is a world-class rowing and wellness facility with a mission to enable sport for all, inspire wellbeing and foster community.

We offer a range of programmes and activities, including sport programmes for all ages and abilities, a public gym, group exercise classes, and community events. Our not-for-profit mission also features an on-site café and lakeside multifunction space.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead the next phase of our growth as a senior leader. You'll report directly to the Board and hold full responsibility for our operations.

As a senior leader, you'll balance strategic leadership with on-the-ground involvement, ensuring that both the big picture and daily details are delivered to the highest standard. Your team will include our Head of Sport, Head of Gym, Operations Officer, Administration Team, Event Officer, and Partnering Organisations.

This role requires a leader who is comfortable shaping strategy and rolling up their sleeves. You'll be responsible for leading our strategic direction, financial performance, and reporting to the Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead our strategic direction, financial performance, and reporting to the Board.
  • Manage and support a multi-disciplinary team across sport, gym, wellbeing, events, and hospitality.
  • Oversee budgets, compliance, and governance obligations.
  • Build strong partnerships with community, sporting, and government stakeholders.
  • Drive membership growth, programme participation, and community engagement.
  • Foster a positive, values-driven culture that empowers staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations while keeping focus on long-term sustainability and growth.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Senior management experience, ideally in sport, community, fitness, or a related sector.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and reporting at Board/Committee level.
  • A proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to engage in day-to-day operational needs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for health, wellbeing, and community-focused work.
