Program Lead: Child Protection Services
OverviewThis role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of departmental and whole-of-government programs and strategies in relation to human services to children and families across Queensland.
The position requires strong leadership skills, including staff management, resource allocation, and strategic project outcomes.
A key focus area is statewide implementation of delegated authority to community-controlled organisations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the work unit and manage staff and resources to achieve strategic and project outcomes.
- Lead the provision of policy and practice advice on matters across the child protection continuum.
- Develop and implement quality systems and procedures to ensure effective coordination of responses to critical client, stakeholder, and system issues.
- Implement effective coordination and ensure governance mechanisms are in place with program, policy, and regional stakeholders.
- Provide advice regarding emerging issues, critical paths, project linkages, and strategic opportunities and challenges.
- Genuine occupational requirement: This position must be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Ability to undertake intrastate travel for short periods.
- Extensive experience in tertiary child protection practice and/or child protection service response design.
