Employment Specialist Opportunity

As an Employment Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering our services focused on the employment, education, wellbeing and independence of our customers. You will be responsible for engaging with employers, networking with community organisations and developing strong relationships with customers to understand their capacity to work, their employment preferences and what support they need.

You will also assist our customers to become job ready and work with other local community services to address any barriers to employment that our customers may be experiencing. Additionally, you will maintain regular employer and customer contact after they start work to review their progress and ensure any issues are actioned swiftly.

We are looking for passionate individuals who genuinely want to assist others in our local community. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a recruitment or similar role, possess strong administrative, compliance capabilities and IT skills, and be able to balance empathy while working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Engage with employers to identify new and ongoing employment opportunities
  • Navigate local labour markets to source employment opportunities for our job seekers
  • Develop strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences
  • Assist customers to become job ready and overcome employment barriers
  • Maintain regular contact with employers and customers to review progress and address issues

Requirements
  • Educational Requirements:
  • Right to Work in Australia i.e. Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or visa with Work Rights
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to gain if successful
