About the Role

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic support worker to join our team in providing services for individuals experiencing homelessness. The successful candidate will work across multiple programs, promoting independent living skills, well-being, recreation, and social engagement.

You will provide individual and group support, plan and facilitate activities that meet residents' needs, and collaborate with caseworkers and partner services to create a positive community environment.

Maintaining accurate records and managing risks appropriately is crucial in this role. You will also foster a respectful team culture and contribute to creating a trauma-informed, strength-based environment where residents can regain control of their lives and move towards sustainable living.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services or a related field
  • Experience in homelessness or housing services (desirable)
  • A collaborative and person-centred approach, with strong emotional intelligence
  • A practical understanding of trauma-informed care and strengths-based practice
  • Ability to build rapport and navigate challenging situations with professionalism and care
