Rural and Emergency Nursing Position

This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to expand their rural and emergency nursing skills in a hands-on, highly varied environment. You'll join a collaborative team of professionals working together to provide exceptional patient care.

The Walcha Multi-Purpose Service offers an exciting opportunity to work across emergency, acute, and residential aged care in a welcoming and well-supported rural setting.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing person-centred care across acute, ED, and aged care
  • Responding to a broad range of presentations, from minor injuries to cardiac and trauma
  • Taking clinical leadership as RN-in-Charge on shift
  • Collaborating with telehealth and virtual care teams for safe emergency management
  • Supporting residents and their families with compassionate care that respects their stories and experiences

We're seeking nurses who are registered and experienced in acute or emergency settings, confident working across aged care, ED, and acute care in a rural generalist model, adaptable, self-directed, and calm under pressure, committed to teamwork and collaborative care, and passionate about making a real impact in a rural health setting.

This position offers a supportive on-site Clinical Nurse Educator, access to training in ALS (adult and paediatric), triage (TEK), and virtual care systems, encouragement to pursue courses relevant to emergency and rural nursing, guidance and mentorship from experienced senior clinicians and visiting specialists, allocated days off, annual leave, salary packaging options, Fitness Passport for health and well-being, Employee Assistance Program, relocation benefits, and family travel assistance.
