About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior People Advisor to join our Rail Operations Business Unit in Melbourne. This fixed-term parental leave role will involve supporting the implementation and delivery of people-related matters, including capability building, talent management, staff engagement, performance management, and industrial relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate HR/IR advice and guidance to stakeholders
  • Support the facilitation of the annual salary review process, including staff market alignments, promotions, and advice on bandings and relativities
  • Facilitate and support performance development, performance management, and disciplinary processes
  • Identify training gaps and support the delivery of coaching/training
  • Support change initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organisational vision, values, and business strategy
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of proactive employee engagement and retention strategies
  • Support enterprise agreement negotiations
About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional with:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience in providing HR and IR advice and support, utilising working knowledge of best practice and relevant legislation
  • Experience as a generalist HR professional with practical application in Project Construction, Heavy Industry Manufacturing work environments
  • Experience supporting white and blue-collar employees and advising at all levels of management
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or equivalent experience
