Airfare Expert Role

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Operations team as a fares expert, working alongside colleagues in a centrally located office. You will be responsible for handling all things fares related, supporting internal employees and customers.

The ideal candidate will have a natural knack for air-related matters and enjoy working with different airlines and suppliers. You will be given the opportunity to handle land and tour arrangements, working closely with destination management companies (DMCs) and ground handlers once you have built a strong foundation of knowledge within the Ops team.

  • Constructing customised itineraries via Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) and providing timely and effective quotes to customers.
  • Airline Group Bookings (Group departures, tours, exclusive packages).
  • Queue Management including schedule changes and reissues.
  • Completing ticket amendments, re-issues, exchanges and refunds through consolidators.
  • Customer Feedback resolution.
  • Regular communication with customers to satisfy flight requests or finalise bookings and respond to queries.
Key Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

  • An experienced airfare consultant having worked in a retail agency or wholesale company booking air on a regular basis.
  • GDS Experience (Sabre preferable).
  • In-depth knowledge of fare rules (or ability to find out required information) and daily processes for ticketing, reissuing and booking management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.

This role is NOT a sales position & would require an experienced consultant with min 1 year travel experience keen to step away from the sales element.
