Flight Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Operations Specialist to join our team in Perth. This is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary role that requires technical expertise and a passion for safety standards and stakeholder engagement.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Champion a culture of safety in flight operations.
  • Evaluate and implement effective controls for aviation-related risks.
  • Lead and document flight audits, ensuring timely closure of actions.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in flight reviews and incident investigations.
  • Manage changes and deviations related to aviation according to the Integrity Management Standard.
  • Provide after-hours technical support and participate in the Incident Management Team.
  • Maintain and update flight standards and guidelines.
  • Advise on the application of aviation industry standards and regulations (CASA, ICAO, IOGP, CAP 437).
  • Participate in aircraft operator tendering and approve acceptable operators.
  • Monitor performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage in Aviation Communities of Practice and internal stakeholder forums.
  • Represent interests with key external stakeholders, including; Aviation service providers, oil and gas Aviation Advisors, NOPSEMA, Safer Together, helicopter OEMs and aviation regulators as required.
Requirements:
  • Deep knowledge of rotary wing aircraft performance and operations; fixed-wing experience desirable.
  • Strong understanding of offshore helicopter operations and relevant regulations.
  • Lead auditor experience with Quality auditing standards (ISO9001, AS9100).
  • Proficiency in Aviation Safety Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated success in managing external stakeholders.
  • Technically competent with aviation-related digital systems.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in aviation, with a focus on offshore oil and gas environments.
  • Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence (CPL(H)) or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL(H)).
