Job Title:

Head of Special Education Services

This role is responsible for leading the special education and early childhood development programs within a school setting.

About the Role:
  • Lead and manage the special education team, providing expert advice and support to classroom teachers for students with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes, including targeted teaching and case management.
  • Collaborate with parents, government agencies, and community groups to support students with disabilities.
  • Manage human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide high-quality advice and support to classroom teachers for students with disabilities.
  2. Lead and manage the special education and early childhood development programs.
  3. Develop and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.
  4. Coordinate and provide targeted teaching for students needing intervention in literacy and numeracy.
  5. Provide and coordinate case management for students requiring significant adjustments.
  6. Support staff in accessing specialist services and professional development.
  7. Engage in school decision-making and professional development to contribute to school goals and vision.
