We're a global law firm with a strong presence in multiple regions, seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our General Counsel & Risk Team. As a Senior Risk and Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the firm's compliance with various laws and regulatory rules, while also providing support to lawyers and PAs on the use of compliance systems and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake conflict searches, analyzing reports, and escalating potential issues for resolution to escalation points.
  • Take ownership of new business intake matters, carrying out full risk analysis and liaising with stakeholders, including Partners, associates, and Member Firms.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations, such as AML Directives and SRA Code of Conduct, and stay up-to-date with changes in the legal and regulatory landscape.
  • Provide guidance and support to lawyers and PAs on compliance systems, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year's experience working in a business, legal, or related professional services firm.
  • Interest in Risk and Compliance, with a focus on developing knowledge of commercial, political, and risk issues affecting the business.
  • Excellent computer skills, with the ability to switch between different database interfaces and online tools.
  • Excellent research skills, with familiarity with online research tools.
  • Ability to critically evaluate multiple sources, identifying key risk issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work streams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with support.
  • Aptitude to work on increasingly complex checks.
  • Working knowledge of other Regions' professional rules.
  • Self-driven individual.
