Automation Technician Position Overview

In this automation technician role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting cutting-edge equipment at a leading logistics facility in Melbourne. Your tasks will include conducting scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability, reporting on system performance, faults, and corrective actions, and fostering strong relationships with site personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on advanced automation systems
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to guarantee system dependability
  • Report on system performance, faults, and corrective measures
  • Establish trust-based connections with site staff
  • Provide on-the-job training and promote system improvements
  • Manage spare parts and organize tools and resources on-site

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in electromechanics or industrial automation
  • Experience in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces (with proper training)
  • Proficiency with Siemens, Beckhoff, Rockwell, or Allen Bradley PLCs (advantageous)
  • UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
  • A-grade Electrical Licence
  • Valid Australian working rights
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
