Job Opportunity

The role of the Automation Project Specialist involves overseeing automation projects, encompassing electrical project management, and collaborating with a multi-disciplined team to deliver automation work packages across various capital projects.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience with PLC level, SCADA, or communication protocols required for semi-auto or full automation of tools or material handling systems.

  • Programming of PLCs and Safety PLCs
  • Human Machine Interface programming and specification with exposure to brands such as Citect, Panel View and WinCC
  • Developing and authoring commissioning and test plans to validate safety PLC code
  • Conducting hardware and software training for technical personnel
  • Experience with efficient alarm design and fault-finding guides
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing automation projects from planning to execution
  • Designing and developing automation solutions using PLCs, SCADA, and other technologies
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery
  • Performing troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
  • Contributing to the development of engineering projects
Requirements
  • Electrical and/or Automation engineering background, including Instrumentation and PLC systems
  • Minimum 7 years relevant industrial experience and participation in the development of engineering projects
  • Extensive Experience with PLC level, SCADA, or communication protocols required for semi-auto or full automation of tools or material handling systems
  • Strong preference for experience with Siemens 300 and 1500 series PLC and Citect SCADA systems

This is a contract position requiring an immediate start. The ideal candidate will be registered with the relevant authority to provide professional engineering services. If not currently registered, they must be eligible for registration and commit to commencing the assessment and registration process on appointment.
