About the Role

The Retail Strategy Manager is a key position within UNSW Australia's Estate Management team, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive retail strategy that optimises the retail landscape across the university's campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a data-driven retail strategy aligned with the university's mission and long-term goals.
  • Identify and negotiate with suitable retail partners to create a vibrant and sustainable retail environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess demand for various retail offerings and optimise the mix accordingly.
  • Utilise market research and consumer behaviour insights to inform decision-making and drive foot traffic.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and tenants to ensure a seamless fit-out design and approval process.
  • Monitor performance metrics and feedback to continually refine the tenancy mix and ensure a world-class retail experience.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with existing tenants and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Stay updated on market dynamics and leasing trends to capitalise on emerging opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Design and execute marketing campaigns to raise awareness of campus retail offerings.
About You
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Real Estate, Marketing or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in leading and managing retail precincts, developing retail strategies and approaches to retail mix.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation, market trend analysis and financial analysis.
  • Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with a creative mindset and a passion for innovation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the NSW Retail Leases Act and contract management.
