Strategic Economic Modeller for Infrastructure and Policy

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Economist to join our Planning & Infrastructure Economics team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality economic advice to clients across various sectors, including energy, decarbonisation, transport, and social infrastructure.
Your Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver quantitative macro-economic and economy-wide modelling analysis of policies and projects;
- Develop and provide strategic economic advice to clients on the planning and prioritisation of infrastructure investments and future thinking;
- Collaborate with leading minds on national economic issues and reforms, including tax, labour market, productivity, cost of living, immigration, and community development;
- Share economics expertise and knowledge internally and externally;
- Identify new opportunities arising from emerging industry trends;
- Support thought leadership on strategic, technical, and business issues impacting clients and markets;
- Contribute to a dynamic team environment that thrives on intellectual curiosity and problem-solving.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A strong analytical approach to economics and data, with a keen interest in leveraging technology and data to enhance advice;
- Confident coding skills and proficiency in software packages supporting large data sets and economic modelling;
- The ability to communicate complex problems and analytics clearly and compellingly to both technical and non-technical audiences;
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, ideally with further studies in quantitative economic modelling;
- Excellent team-oriented skills, with a focus on delivering value to clients in a commercial advisory environment.

We offer a competitive salary package, with estimated annual compensation ranging from AUD $120,000 to AUD $180,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
