General Medicine Trainee Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic General Medicine trainee to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Description:

The General Medicine trainee will be responsible for providing expert medical care to inpatients and outpatients of the General Medicine departments. The role involves working under the supervision and direction of Specialist Medical Practitioners, with opportunities to develop skills and expertise in acute medicine and general medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures, and maintaining adequate medical records;
  • Developing expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment;
  • Participating in outpatient services in various ambulatory care settings, including hospital facilities and private consulting rooms;
  • Closing and effective liaison with consultants to demonstrate level of ability and understanding of patient care;
  • Participating in departmental after-hours rosters throughout the year, including evening, night, and weekend shifts;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to exercise discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality;
  • Capacity to work co-operatively as a member and contributor in a complex multi-disciplinary team;
  • Ability to provide and participate in performance monitoring;
