Job Overview:

The General Medicine Trainee plays a vital role in providing medical care to patients in the General Medicine departments. This position has been established to address the growing demand for General Medicine expertise in Western Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert medical care to inpatients and outpatients under the supervision of Specialist Medical Practitioners.
  • Participate in outpatient services, including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, and performing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and develop expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with consultants to demonstrate understanding of patient care and expand areas of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification and be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Have sufficient clinical experience to undertake clinical duties and proficiency in basic life support.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and possess good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
