Hotel Maintenance Professional

About the Role

The role of Hotel Maintenance Professional is a vital part of our hotel's operations, ensuring that guest rooms and facilities are well-maintained and meet customer expectations.

  • Maintenance and repair of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure a high level of cleanliness and safety.
  • Performing routine checks on equipment, systems, and facilities to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Responding promptly to guest requests for maintenance and repairs, and communicating effectively with guests regarding the status of their requests.
Key Responsibilities
  • Completing work orders as requested by management to meet customer requirements.
  • Identifying and implementing preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend the life of equipment and facilities.
  • Demonstrating flexibility in changing work schedules to accommodate guest priorities.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including the plant rooms, and adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in general building maintenance or engineering, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Problem-solving and fault-finding skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and schematics.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for dealing with guests, staff, and external contractors.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays, and be available for emergency call-outs as required.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry trades.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, and other hotel-specific systems.
  • Knowledge of OH&S procedures and protocols.
