Radiation Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team at GenesisCare. As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiation Oncology centre.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
- Undertake direct patient care, including education, wound management, and drug administration as per Practice Protocol.
- Effectively manage nursing patient load and facilitate effective communication with doctors, patient services, physics, and radiation therapy staff.
- Liaise with co-located St. Vincent's Campus - Private and Public Hospital nursing staff and ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated, and actioned.
- Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
- Ensure medication management protocols are followed and establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool.
- Comply with patient handover procedures as per ISBAR communication tool and demonstrate reliability, motivation, and flexibility.

- Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum two years post-graduate experience.
- Preferred oncology background/knowledge, however not essential. Training will be provided in Radiation Oncology nursing.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers.
- Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills, ability to plan and coordinate the clinical management of care.
- Commitment to and involvement in the application of quality improvement and evidence-based practice principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member and show commitment to continuing professional development.
