About the Role

The QFES Commissioner is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Auxiliary Firefighter. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team, utilizing specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness by contributing to community education activities and developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses.
  • Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training, ensuring a high level of professionalism and commitment to the role.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and station facilities, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers, and the general community, promoting a positive team approach in all work activities.
Requirements
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station
