Property and Security Manager

SOS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Property and Security Officer to join their team at the APS6 level.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Service Manager to perform security adviser functions as delegated by the Chief Security Officer.
- Manage security clearances on behalf of the department and communicate with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
- Ensure compliance and assurance within the security governance framework, including the mandatory requirements of the Government's Protective Security Policy Framework.
- Oversee the management of the department's property, including repairs and maintenance, liaison with landlords and outsourced property management services supplier, and security access.
- Manage security and property-related projects, including relevant procurement activities and contractor and stakeholder management.
- Contribute to strategic planning for the department's security and property and assist with the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policy and planning documents and SOPs.
- Provide property and security reports, including preparing and maintaining environmental reporting and the Australian Government Office Property Data Collection Report.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, rules, regulations and procedures, including the Protective Security Policy Framework and Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and experience or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of security and building maintenance systems.
- Ability to negotiate and manage contracts and resolve service delivery problems in a timely and satisfactory manner.
