About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Treasury Risk Manager to join our team at D'Arcy Weil. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing treasury risk strategies to ensure financial stability and liquidity management within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treasury Risk Management: Develop and implement comprehensive treasury risk management strategies, including liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks.
  • Liquidity Management: Monitor and manage our organization's liquidity position, ensuring sufficient cash flow to meet operational and financial obligations.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct in-depth risk assessments, including scenario analysis and stress testing, to identify and mitigate treasury-related risks.
  • Hedging Strategies: Develop and implement effective hedging strategies to mitigate exposure to interest rate and foreign exchange fluctuations.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Prepare and manage detailed cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with our organization's financial goals.
  • Investment Management: Oversee our organization's investment portfolio, ensuring that investment strategies align with risk management objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Australian financial regulations, including APRA guidelines, and maintain a strong relationship with regulatory bodies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management, including insights into treasury risk exposures and recommendations for action.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the finance, accounting, and legal teams to integrate risk management into all treasury-related activities.
  • Technology Integration: Lead the adoption and integration of treasury management systems and tools, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and rating agencies, to ensure transparency and alignment with best practices.
  • Policy Development: Develop and refine treasury risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks in line with industry standards.
  • Audit Support: Support internal and external audits, ensuring that all treasury risk management practices are well-documented and compliant with regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in treasury risk management practices, staying ahead of industry trends and emerging risks.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
  • Extensive Experience: 7-10 years of experience in treasury risk management, preferably within the energy sector or a large corporate environment.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of Australian financial regulations, particularly those related to treasury and liquidity management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of treasury management systems, risk assessment tools, and financial modelling.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to develop and implement strategic treasury risk management initiatives.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in leading teams and managing complex projects, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CTP are highly valued.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a proactive approach to managing risks.
