Job Title: Infection Prevention Specialist
This is a newly created role to drive infection control principles across the Perioperative Suite.
- Implement and review the hospital-wide Infection Prevention and Control Programme.
- Provide comprehensive infection control advice and support across the department.
- Facilitate the reporting of infections through a robust surveillance system.
- Action quality improvement initiatives and maintain audit requirements.
The ideal candidate will have AHPRA registration, hold or be working towards the ACIPC Foundations of IPC certificate, and possess infection prevention and control skills, knowledge, and experience. They will also have demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care setting.
About this role: You will work closely with the clinical leadership team to promote best practices in infection control. Your expertise will help ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities: Implement and review infection control policies, provide expert advice on infection control matters, facilitate surveillance and quality improvement activities.
You will be successful in this role if you:
- Have AHPRA registration and relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Hold the ACIPC Foundations of IPC certificate or are working towards it.
- Have recent clinical experience in an acute care setting.
