We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our team at Randstad. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional legal advice and services to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, public law, and administrative law, with a proven track record of providing high-quality legal advice and services in a government context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide authoritative and timely legal advice and services to internal departments on a range of legal issues.
  • Effectively manage complaints, disputes, claims, and litigation matters.
  • Perform legal research and analysis and draft cogent, accurate, and complex legal opinions.
  • Ensure compliance with the department's legislative obligations.
  • Review and advise on policies and procedures.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review legal instruments across a broad range of areas.
  • Remain informed regarding contemporary developments in the law and update internal resources and templates.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience providing high-quality legal advice and services within a government context.
  • Substantial experience in one or more of commercial law, statutory interpretation, administrative/public law, and litigation.
  • Highly developed research, statutory interpretation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make sound judgments under pressure.
  • Well-developed organization and time management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Victorian practicing certificate (or eligibility to acquire a practicing certificate).
