In this role, you will work closely with the General Manager, Legal - Corporate, to provide strategic legal input into business decisions. You will be responsible for advising on a wide range of commercial, compliance, and regulatory issues that impact organisational operations.
Key Responsibilities...
- Providing accurate, commercially astute, and timely advice on a broad range of issues, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts;
- Conducting thorough legal research, drafting and reviewing contracts, negotiating deals, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
- Developing standards, template agreements, playbooks, and other educational resources to educate internal stakeholders on relevant legal issues;
- Assisting the General Manager with briefing and coordinating external legal advisors, monitoring the quality, value, and timeliness of services provided;
- Supporting, guiding, and providing technical assistance to more junior members of the legal team.
About You...
We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial (transactional) Lawyer with a strong background in handling complex transactions. Ideal candidates will have:
- 7+ years PQE as a transactional (commercial) lawyer, including experience in handling complex transactions;
- Experience working in a regulated environment;
- Experience with technology/IT contracts and service agreements;
- Ability to focus on pragmatic implementations and legal principles in a corporate environment;
- Attention to detail to ensure that all procedural requirements are met in accordance with key regulations/legislation;
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships;
- Highly developed, effective prioritisation skills to manage competing priorities.
