
Natural Disaster Analyst

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a research or data science background seeking to develop skills in catastrophe modelling.
As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our organisation's understanding and management of risks associated with natural disasters. You will be responsible for researching, analysing and modelling various disaster scenarios, providing valuable insights that will contribute to informed decision-making processes.
The primary responsibilities of this role include conducting disaster model validation for external vendors and internal models for regions around the globe, as well as managing projects in a timely manner in collaboration with global teams and external service providers.
- Conduct disaster model validation for external vendors and internal models for peril regions around the globe, including earthquake, flood, hurricane, cyclone and severe convective storm perils
- Develop and implement climate change research projects and their integration into disaster modelling processes
- Manage projects efficiently in collaboration with global teams and external service providers
- Assist with disaster event response and other tasks as required
Key qualifications for this role include a PhD, Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Physical Geography, Meteorology, Flood Engineering or Atmospheric Sciences, as well as strong analytical and quantitative skills and proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
