First Nations And Indigenous Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a First Nations and Indigenous Engagement Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about shaping the future of energy and working with Indigenous communities.

  • This role will play a vital part in building bridges between our organization and First Nations businesses, promoting positive relationships and fostering economic growth.
  • You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our modern slavery program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting ethical sourcing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve our engagement with First Nations businesses, including identifying opportunities for procurement and developing partnerships.
  • Work closely with our Strategic Procurement Team to influence and implement improvements to our procurement processes, ensuring that we are meeting our commitments to First Nations businesses.
  • Educate our business on the Queensland Indigenous Procurement Policy (QIPP) and identify opportunities for procurement from First Nations businesses.
  • Monitor and report on our progress in engaging with First Nations businesses, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated understanding of government policies related to the engagement of Indigenous businesses.
  • Familiarity with the Modern Slavery Act and experience in developing and implementing modern slavery programs.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with Indigenous community groups, businesses, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to analyse spend data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
