This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Employment Counsel, where you will play a key role in advising on employment matters across the Asia Pacific region.

Job Responsibilities:">

  • Provide Legal Advice: Provide pragmatic legal advice on employment law issues, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes, compensation, benefits, and executive remuneration, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, and flexible working requests, contingent worker and contractor issues, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, performance management, disciplinary actions, and grievances, conducting and advising on internal investigations, managing redundancies and reorganizations, engaging with employee representative bodies where applicable.">
  • Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Draft, negotiate, and enforce employment-related agreements, templates, and forms, such as employment contracts, consulting agreements, settlement agreements, and restrictive covenants.">
  • Develop Employment Policies: Develop and implement scalable, compliant employment policies and programs to support our growth.">
  • Conduct Reviews and Audits: Conduct reviews and audits of employment policies and practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness.">
  • Manage Disputes: Assist in managing employment disputes, governmental agency actions, and litigation matters.">
  • Monitor Changes in Employment Laws: Monitor changes in employment laws across the region and advise on their impact on the company.">

  • Assess Legal Risks: Ability to assess legal risks and benefits and provide clear, business-oriented advice.">
  • Positive Attitude: Proactive, positive attitude, capable of handling diverse projects.">
  • Dynamic Environment: Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.">
  • Relationship-Building Skills: Strong relationship-building skills.">
  • HR Experience: Experience creating and scaling HR processes and policies for growing companies.">
  • JD or LLB: JD, LLB, or equivalent degree.">
  • Legal Experience: At least 4 years of legal experience with substantive employment law expertise.">
  • Regional Expertise: Experience in law firms, in-house roles at multinational companies, or handling employment law in the Asia Pacific region preferred.">
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English; additional fluency in Japanese, Mandarin, or Korean is a plus.">
  • Sense of Humor: Sense of humor.">
