Job Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the technical team in a laboratory-based role. They will assist with provision of technical services that align with the organisation's service offerings, focusing on aspects of molecular biology. The role will also involve handling plants grown in growth facilities and assisting with tissue culture techniques used in plant synthetic biology experiments.

The Laboratory Technician will work under general direction to streamline organisational processes and liaise with staff to ensure efficient operation of facilities. They will contribute to strategic projects within the organisation and engage in experimental work beyond molecular biology from time to time.

The organisation provides plant synthetic biology infrastructure and expertise to drive gains in agricultural productivity and develop new products through environmentally sustainable bio-manufacturing. The successful candidate will be part of a network of national facilities with nodes at various universities.

To succeed in this role, the candidate will need to demonstrate ability to promote organisational values and build effective relationships with stakeholders. They should have working knowledge of plant molecular biology techniques and previous experience working in a PC2 facility.
