Microbiome Research Specialist

Flinders University seeks a motivated researcher to contribute to cutting-edge microbiome research.
Job Title: Research Associate in Phage Gene RegulationThis is a key role in the Flinders Accelerator for Microbiome Exploration (FAME), which brings together world-leading experts in microbiome and metagenomics research.
- Molecular biology experiments, including EMSA, protein purification, and functional screens, will be performed.
- The laboratory findings will be integrated with bioinformatics analyses such as motif discovery and comparative genomics.
- The researcher will collaborate with the Chief Investigator, students, and partners to deliver impactful research outcomes.
We are looking for a highly motivated early-career or emerging researcher with a strong foundation in microbiology, molecular biology, or synthetic biology. You will have sound technical skills and a passion for advancing phage biology research.
Key Position Capabilities:- Completion of a PhD in Microbiology or a related discipline.
- Experience in molecular cloning, protein-DNA interaction assays, or sequence analysis (phage biology highly desirable).
- A track record of research outputs, including publications and/or conference presentations.
