Molecular Biology Support Specialist

Molecular biology support specialists are sought after by our research team to provide technical services and expertise in plant synthetic biology.
The role involves working in a laboratory-based environment, focusing on molecular biology techniques as well as handling plants grown in controlled facilities and assisting with tissue culture techniques for plant synthetic biology experiments.
Key responsibilities include implementing and streamlining organisational processes, collaborating with research staff to ensure facility efficiency, and supporting experimental work and strategic projects.
- Promote organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence, and discovery through demonstrated ability and leadership.
- Develop effective relationships with stakeholders through provision of technical support.
- Strong working knowledge of plant molecular biology techniques and previous experience working in PC2 facilities are essential requirements.
- Desirable – Understanding of gene editing and plant transformation processes.
