We are seeking a skilled Radar Systems Technician to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have broad technical experience across areas such as Radar, Telecoms, Electronics and IT Networking and Systems Administration.

Job Description

In this role, you will ensure the operational availability of ICT and engineering systems in support of RAAF surveillance capabilities.

  • Supporting ICT and technical systems to maintain Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) and other relevant surveillance systems.
  • Performing basic system administration functions using Red Hat operating system.
  • Assisting in system level fault-finding, including managing faults and liaising between the customer, field technicians and engineering teams.
  • Performing inspections and conducting preventative maintenance to ensure availability of ICT systems, emergency backup power and cooling systems.
  • Ensuring documentation of all faults and maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with engineering procedures.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that requires minimal supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Broad technical experience across areas such as Radar, Telecoms, Electronics and IT Networking and Systems Administration.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused technical team.
