Artisan Baker Position

The role of an artisan baker involves the production of high-quality bread products in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include producing bread according to recipes and production plans, monitoring and maintaining quality of raw ingredients, mixes and doughs, and ensuring product quality through moulding, proving and baking stages of production.

Bread production is a key aspect of this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing a wide range of bread products, from traditional breads to more complex items such as sourdough and ciabatta.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bread production, with experience working in a commercial bakery environment. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

A critical component of this role is the maintenance of food safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for following procedures to ensure that all bread products are safe for consumption.

In addition to bread production, the successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the quality of raw ingredients, mixes and doughs. This includes regularly checking the temperature and humidity levels in the bakery, as well as ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained.

Another key responsibility of this role is waste management. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective waste management systems, which includes recycling and composting wherever possible.
