Operational Risk Management Role

Do you want to make a meaningful impact in risk management?

We are seeking an Operational Risk Management Professional to support the delivery of our Operational Risk Management Framework.

About the Role:
  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment
  • Issue Management
  • Incident Management
  • Controls Assurance
  • Internal controls regime
  • Associated internal and regulatory reporting

In addition, this role will provide support to the Chief Risk Officer and wider Risk Management team in delivering the risk management framework to our Oceania branch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure risk is appropriately managed and processes meet applicable risk management standards.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are in place to comply with all relevant regulatory prudential standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of our operational risk management framework and assist in its enhancement.
  • Manage periodic attestation processes such as ensuring all risk events have been captured and policies remain up to date.
  • Partner with business units and support functions to provide trusted advice on risk management practices and develop an effective risk framework.
  • Develop and deliver training and workshops to refresh risk management skills and competencies.
  • Assist in tracking and timely resolution of risk events and associated countermeasures.
  • Work with business units and support functions to ensure that countermeasures are fit for purpose and controls are well designed.
  • Preparation of Risk Management Committee agendas and minutes.
  • General administrative duties on behalf of the CRO and Risk Management Team.
Requirements:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest and drive to learn about risk management. We will provide you with the knowledge and training to get involved across a broad range of risk management activities.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year's experience working in operational risk, enterprise risk or audit function in financial services, with exposure to APRA & RBNZ regulations.

However, we will also give consideration to recent graduates with a good understanding of operational risk management best practice and a grounding in the Three Lines of Defence principles of risk management.

Outstanding administration skills including use of Microsoft Office are essential.

Highly organized and efficient individuals who can multitask and work autonomously are ideal.
