Operational Risk Manager

As a proactive and energetic professional, you will join our health and safety team to support our asphalt business, supplying high-quality surfacing solutions for Australian road and construction projects.

You will work closely with frontline leaders, delivering strong alignment between operational risks and health and safety controls. Your role will involve traveling to sites, engaging with employees and leaders, and creating learning opportunities from issues and incidents.

Building intimate relationships with stakeholders is essential to achieve positive safety outcomes. You will operate across NSW, working on a range of asphalt manufacturing sites, spray seal depots, and mobile operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support operational leaders in risk management
  • Provide specialist health and safety advice, coaching, and support to operational teams
  • Roll out and implement the health & safety strategy and business unit plan
  • Facilitate incident response, analysis, and learnings
  • Manage HSE regulatory compliance inspections, audits, and reports
  • Implement the HSEQ management system and national programs
  • Ensure assurance audits are completed in line with the audit and assurance program

Key skills and qualifications include:

Requirements
  • A positive approach with a commitment to partnering with operational teams
  • Proven experience in similar roles, particularly in incident investigations and facilitating learnings
  • Experience in high-risk environments, such as bituminous manufacturing or infrastructure
  • Knowledge of WHS regulations and systems
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety
