Food Preparation Professional for Aged Care Facility

The role of a Chef in an aged care facility is to prepare and serve nutritious meals that cater to the diverse needs of residents. This position requires strong culinary skills, attention to food safety, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a kitchen team.
Responsibilities- Meal Preparation: Prepare appetizing and well-balanced meals according to menus designed by the Head Chef, ensuring that they meet the specific dietary needs of individual residents.
- Special Diets: Accommodate special dietary requirements, such as texture-modified diets, to cater to the unique health conditions and preferences of our residents.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, ensuring that they meet high standards in taste, appearance, and portion sizes.
- Collaboration with Kitchen Staff: Work as part of a team in the kitchen, collaborating with other kitchen staff, to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
- Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery): Hold a recognized qualification in commercial cookery.
- Adaptable and Passionate: Demonstrate adaptability, passion, and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Collaborative Team Player: Showcase collaborative and teamwork skills, working effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Effective Communication: Possess friendly and effective communication abilities, enabling seamless interaction with colleagues and residents.
