Family Services Program Coordinator

Job Opportunity:

The role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Aboriginal children and families involved in the child protection system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing casework and case management services for Aboriginal children in out-of-home care, employing a trauma-informed approach.
  • Working with Koori young people aged 13-18 years in the Ovens Murray region and supporting their education through tutoring, cultural advocacy, and school engagement.
  • Leading projects, managing staff, budget, external partnerships, compliance, and administration within the Family Services program.
  • Collaborating with the research team to develop and implement evidence-based strategies that improve outcomes for Aboriginal children and families.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and a strong understanding of the issues affecting them.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs and services.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
