This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Student Retention team at James Cook University. As a Pathways Success Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students from diverse backgrounds to achieve academic success.

Job Summary

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing educational support services to students, including individual and group tutorials, workshops, and one-on-one coaching. You will also assist with the development and implementation of retention strategies to improve student outcomes.

About the Role

This is a part-time fixed-term position, working 21.75 hours per week until January 2024. The salary range is $66,532 - $70,676 per annum (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation. The role is based in Townsville, but remote work options may be available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational support services to students, including individual and group tutorials, workshops, and one-on-one coaching
  • Assist with the development and implementation of retention strategies to improve student outcomes
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless delivery of student support services
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as education or social sciences
  • Proven experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
